Expressing Friendship with Art

Wu Zhengdan, General Manager of Guangzhou Acrobatic Arts Theater, participated in the China-Korea and China-Japan Friendship Exchanges with "Ballet on the Shoulder".

The friendly exchanges between China and South Korea and China and Japan run a long history.  Guided by the Information Office of China State Council and the Information Office of the Peoples Government of Guangdong Province, the Information Office of Guangzhou Municipal Government hosted the Storytelling Seminars in Seoul, South Korea and Osaka, Japan respectively on June 10 and June 12 of 2019.  Ms. Wu Zhengdan, the general manager and artistic director of Guangzhou Acrobatic Arts Theater Co., Ltd. and the winner of the "Golden Clown" award, the highest award in the International Acrobatic Competitions, became a story teller as a representative of Chinese artists. She shared moving stories of friendly exchanges between China and South Korea, China and Japan with more than two hundred guests from the fields of politics, business and culture. She displayed a developing and open China, a vibrant Guangdong and a Guangzhou with unlimited potential.

Chinese Ambassador to South Korea Qiu Guohong, Mayor of Gwangju Metropolitan City Li Yongxie, former first official of Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau of Korea, Chairman of Korea-China Culture and Art Promotion Association Song Xiugen, Vice President of Public Relations on Government and Media of LG Display Sun Yongjun, famous acrobatic performing artist Wu Zhengdan, well-known Cantonese opera performing artist Ou Kaiming, Vice President of Cedar Holdings Group, President of Cedar Commodity Industry Group Han Gang and other city storytellers from China and South Korea shared touching stories of friendly exchanges between China and South Korea.

Li Tianran, Consul General of the Chinese Consulate General in Japan, Wu Song, Executive Deputy General Manager of Guangzhou Automobile Group, Huang Hongying, Vice President of Vipshop, Xiong Yifang, Co-Founder of Yihang Intelligence, Du Lan, Senior Vice President of iFLYTEK Co., Ltd., famous acrobatic performance artist Wu Zhengdan, well-known Cantonese opera performing artist Ou Kaiming, Fukuoka-Guangzhou Litchi Association Special Consultant Egashira Kazuniko, Guangzhou honorary citizen Chiba Yukiko, cartoonist Jincheng and other city storytellers from China and Japan told folk stories of friendship between China and Japan.

Wu Zhengdan, general manager and artistic director of Guangzhou Acrobatic Arts Theater Co., Ltd., impressed all audiences at the Guangzhou Story Seminar of the Boao Forum for Asia. This time, she and her husband Wei Baohua performed "Ballet on the Shoulder" at the seminars in Korea and Japan and talked about their lives of acrobatics. Their breathtaking difficult act once again pushed the scene to the climax. In their performances, as the difficulty continued to escalate, the applause of the scene was thunderous.

The "Set Sail" acrobatic gala newly created by Guangzhou Acrobatic Arts Theater will be put on at the end of this month. More than a dozen boutique programs such as "Ballet on the Shoulder", "Big Martial Arts" and "Swinging Poles" will be unveiled soon. Stay tuned.
